Congratulations! You have been selected through the Office of Admissions as a candidate in the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) in the College of Letters & Science. Your admission to the University is conditional, pending the completion of this brief application/survey, participation in the Summer Collegiate Experience (SCE) and other requirements.
SCE is part of the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) housed in the College of Letters and Science at UW-Madison. SCE is a high impact residential program held on the UW-Madison campus for six weeks from June-July. Participation in SCE is selective and students must be nominated to apply to the SCE program through the Dean's Review process. The Summer Collegiate Experience has been demonstrated to help students with the adjustment to college, improve their grade outcomes in critical introductory classes, and provide a close network of friends and mentors.
About the CAE:
CAE offers academic advising, instructional support, and other information to help students transition to campus after high school and to make decisions about their majors and careers. Our mission is to make the “Wisconsin Experience” a reality for students who have been traditionally underrepresented in higher education (first-generation students, students of color, and students from low-economic backgrounds); most of CAE students are admitted through a committee review process. The essential components of CAE are high impact practices, integrative learning experiences, community building, mentoring, and high-touch advising- which we know have positive impacts on students' academic success while in college.
